Behaviour Interactive recently provided an update regarding their Design Preview initiative, which aims to better incorporate player feedback into the development of Dead by Daylight. This update also includes a status report on The Trickster, a character under review based on community input.
WHAT IS A DESIGN PREVIEW?
The previous Design Preview revealed key insights that have informed Behaviour’s approach moving forward:
- The Importance of Specifics: Major changes require detailed comparisons between the experiences of both Killers and Survivors to guide decisions effectively.
- Visibility of Feedback Utilization: It became clear that players needed more clarity on how their suggestions influenced game improvements.
This feedback will drive new processes. Each upcoming Design Preview will include a brief survey to gather context behind player suggestions, such as experience level and play style. Within two weeks following each preview, Behaviour plans to share initial takeaways from the feedback and insights into how it may inform future changes.
A SHORT UPDATE ON THE TRICKSTER
The team evaluated player responses regarding The Trickster and decided against reverting prior changes. Instead, they see an opportunity to capitalize on his thematic elements to introduce gameplay adjustments that reward dedicated players and entice those who have yet to fully examine his potential. While there is no timeline for these adjustments, updates are promised once more details are available.
WHAT’S NEXT?
A new Design Preview focused on The Skull Merchant is forthcoming and scheduled for release shortly. Expect a fresh look at what Behaviour has planned, and be prepared to provide your opinions once again!
