Heads up, Dave the Diver fans! The much-expected In the Jungle DLC won’t be arriving in 2025 as initially planned. Instead, Mintrocket has pushed it back to early 2026. But before you get too bummed out, there’s some cool news: the free Godzilla Content Pack has returned and will be available until the end of 2026. Additionally, the Ichiban Kasuga crossover DLC has been extended to the same date.
Back in May 2024, Dave the Diver released the Godzilla Content Pack for free, but with a catch: it was only available until November 23, 2024, due to licensing issues. Well, turns out “forever” was a bit flexible because the pack is back! You can now download it for free again, and this time it’s sticking around until December 31, 2026. That’s a pretty generous extension. Mintrocket mentioned the pack will be available “at least until the end of next year,” which hints it might even last longer.
Mintrocket didn’t say precisely how they managed to bring Godzilla back, but it’s part of celebrating the second anniversary of Dave the Diver. Cool shoutouts came from folks like Black Salt Games, Like a Dragon’s Masayoshi Yokoyama, and even voice actor Neil Newbon. Studio head Jaeho Hwang promised the team is still putting plenty of love into new content for the game.
Alongside this, the Ichiban’s Holiday Content Pack, a crossover with Like a Dragon released in April, was supposed to expire in October 2024. Nope! That deadline has also been pushed to the end of 2026. Fans were vocal about feeling pressured by the original limited-time offer, so Mintrocket spoke with Sega, who agreed to extend the availability. They also mentioned the DLC pricing wasn’t thought through carefully, so expect regular discounts to make it more wallet-friendly. Right now, Ichiban’s Holiday is 50% off during the Steam Summer Sale, going for $3.49/£3/€3.44.
Now, for the bummer: the In the Jungle DLC, originally announced for 2025, has been delayed to early 2026. Yikes. That’s a long wait, but hey, Mintrocket ended their announcement with a live performance of Dave the Diver’s soundtrack by the dev team, and honestly, that was pretty charming, and kinda made the wait easier to stomach.
What do you think about these extended deadlines and that Jungle DLC delay? Are you happy that Godzilla and Ichiban Kasuga are sticking around, or are you frustrated by the wait? Drop your thoughts in the comments; I’m curious to hear how everyone feels about this!
