While people are sad, the developer Ironmace has found and decided to address an issue in Dark and Darker. The issue has seemingly appeared today, and it seems to be causing huge game issues. According to the developer’s official information, Hotfix 58-1 is already in deployment and will take the game down for 2 hours, with players unable to play for its whole duration.
As per the official information shared by the developer on X and Discord:
We will be deploying hotfix #58-1 starting at . When the patch starts, you will not be able to log in to the game and players in-game will not be able to enter the matchmaking pool during this time. Players in a match or in-game will have 40 minutes to complete their match and exit safely. The server will return to full service 2 hours after the patch starts. During maintenance, all services, including the website, may be temporarily suspended to update various servers.
Changes:
- Fixed a vulnerability that could cause problems with the game server.
- Fixed an issue where the client could freeze when accessing the lobby after selecting a specific character.
- Fixed an issue where the currently selected region may not be properly reflected in the region selection UI when resetting options.
- Fixed an issue where region selection may not return to its original state when leaving a party.
- Fixed an issue where gold containers could disappear when merging them during the game.
