Dark and Darker has received a new update on August 2, tweaking multiple instances, but also changing some of the classes. The Fighter and Rogue have been nerfed, while the Ranger and Wizard have somewhat noticed a slight buff. The Cleric has now an increased Holy Aura range, and the Bard is also seeing some improvements.

Fighter Changes
- Perfect Block cooldown time: 10s → 7s
- Shield Slam cooldown time: 10s → 7s
- Shield Slam: Can now be used while blocking
Rogue Changes
- Ambush Physical Damage Bonus: 50% → 25%
- Double Jump movement speed penalty: -18 → -10
- Hide Mastery multiplier: 3 → 2.5
- Jokester range: 450 → 600
- Stealth: No longer reveals its silhouette when moving
Ranger Changes
- Chase range: 450 → 550
- Backstep: Now has 2 charges
Wizard Changes
- Quick Chant spell casting speed bonus: 10% → 20%
- Chain Lightning damage: 35/30/25/20 → 35/30/25/25
- Fireball damage: 25/10 → 25/15
- Magic Missile damage: 10 → 11
Cleric Changes
- Holy Aura range: 450 → 600
Bard Changes
- Story Teller range: 450 → 600
- War Song range: 450 → 600
Warlock Changes
- Blow of Corruption damage: 10 → 12
- Life Drain duration: Increased from 6 → 7 seconds
- Life Drain base damage: Increased from 3 → 5
- Life Drain Attribute Bonus Ratio: 75% → 25%
Druid Changes
- Natural Healing range: 450 → 600
- Spirit Bond range: 450 → 600
- Sun and Moon range: 450 → 600
- Panther form Scratch hit slow duration: .25s → 1s
- Panther form move speed bonus: -3% → -15%
- Panther form Neckbite hit slow duration: .25s → .5s
- Panther form move speed bonus: -3% → -7%
Weapon and Item Changes
- Arming Sword damage: Slightly increased
- Aegis’s magic reflection time: 3s → 8s
- Aegis cooldown time: 20s → 12s
- Castillon Dagger’s attack multiplier: 1.0/1.0/1.5 → 1.0/1.0/1.3
- Stiletto Dagger’s attack multiplier: 1.0/1.0/1.4 → 1.0/1.0/1.15
- Improved animation of shields and the Crystal Sword
- Pavise’s movement speed penalty: -50 → -35
- Shield Slam animations: Play slightly faster
- Rapier’s collision sockets: Changed to be slightly tighter
- Healing potions healing amount: Increased from 15 → 20
- Bandage healing amount: Changed from 12/15/18/21/25/30 → 15/19/24/30/37/45
- Bandage usage time: 5.5s → 4s
- Surgical kit usage time: Changed from 27s/24s/20s/18s/16s/12s/10s → 15s/13s/11s/9s/7s/5s/3s
- Campfire install time: 15s → 10s
Event and Inventory Changes
- Addition of new event currencies: Silver Skull Token and Golden Skull Token for an upcoming event
- Improved feel of moving/equipping items in the inventory
High Roller Dungeon Changes
- New experimental High Roller restrictions:
- Minimum gear score of 225
- Party size must match the solo/duo/trio queue size
- HR ante removed
- Settings may be adjusted based on data and feedback
Quality of Life Improvements
- Allied player kills: No longer take extended time to loot initially
- Time to interact with enemy corpse not killed by you or allies: 7s → 12s
- Slight QoL improvements when accessing the Squire
- Improvements to multiple visual and sound effects and audio bugs
- In-Game Quest log: Now updates dynamically while in the dungeons
- Addition of new skins, emotes, and cosmetic rewards
Bug Fixes
- Fixed an issue where characters existing on page 2 would not be displayed at the top of page 1 even if they were recently logged in.
- Fixed an issue where casting a spell could sometimes cancel as if hitting a wall.
- Fixed an issue where magic protection potions would not drop in dungeons.
- Fixed an issue where Frost Wyvern could repeat certain patterns.
- Fixed an issue where Frost Wyvern’s tail slash pattern would sometimes not hit the player.
- Fixed numerous holes in the environment through which rats could fall.
- Fixed an issue where chest lids could become embedded in walls.
- Fixed an issue where various bookshelf levers would not appear.
- Fixed an issue where party members’ gear scores could become unsynchronized.
- Many other minor fixes.
