Dark and Darker: Early Access Hotfix #81 Notes

Major tweaks in matchmaking, fog mechanics, and arena rewards shake up the dungeon crawler.

If you’ve been roaming the perilous dungeons of Dark and Darker, you’ll be intrigued to hear about the latest update from IRONMACE. In their recent Early Access Hotfix #81, developers have pulled back the curtain on some significant tweaks that promise to change your gameplay experience dramatically. Whether you’re an eager combatant or a strategic planner, this hotfix may change how you approach your next raid.

The standout feature of this update is the revamp of the Continuous Match Making system and adjustments to the infamous Dark Swarm settings, explicitly designed to tweak dungeon tempos. Notably, all MMR ratings have been reset to test a new formula alongside strict MMR range restrictions for teams. This means no more wild disparities in party skill levels; now, the difference between your strongest player and weakest can’t exceed 390 MMR. It’s like handing out training wheels for those chaotic group adventures!

If that wasn’t enough to whet your appetite for chaos, players can now test out these changes without worrying about item losses when they take a tumble in Arena matches. That’s right, no penalties mean more chances to experiment with different strategies without losing gear! Speaking of arenas, watch for a special event at season’s end that will lift restrictions on legendary items, an opportunity not to be missed!

Patch Notes:

    • Bugfixes:
      • Fixed an issue where using certain spells after transforming with the Warlock’s Blood Pact could leave lingering effects on the hands.
      • Fixed an issue where cooldown reduction after resting with Sorcerer’s spells might not synchronize properly with spell selection UI.
      • Fixed self-damage issues when casting Windblast while aiming at ground.
      • Visual effects misalignment fixed for Sorcerer’s barehanded spells.
      • Banshee’s attack patterns have been corrected based on surviving players in boss room.

    • Balance Changes:
      • Fighter:
Breakthrough duration changed from 12 seconds to 8 seconds.
      • Druid:
Various adjustments made across spell counts and durations.

    • Game Updates:
      • The EA Season #5 Adventure Rank Reward has been revealed.
      • Arena Test Season 3 will run from March 21st to March 31st with several new modules added!

This refinement hints at a community-focused development philosophy from IRONMACE, and it shows they’re listening. Players often flock online to discuss how these changes might affect their play styles over platforms like Reddit or Twitter. Personally, I’m stoked about trying my hand in this revitalized arena landscape sans item loss penalties; it’s bound to open up interesting possibilities as we plan our survival against wave after wave of foes!

No doubt many gamers are already plotting their next move in high hopes of April’s Non-Seasonal Arena events too, a perfect chance for those looking forward to less restriction while still facing formidable opponents head-on without worrying about equipment degradation upon defeat.

The team at ConsolePCGaming.com is eager to see what tactics emerge as players tackle these fresh challenges post-hotfix. Are you excited about diving back into Dark and Darker? What strategies are you planning now that some old limitations have been lifted? Share your thoughts below!
