Dark and Darker: Early Access Hotfix 70 Brings Exciting Changes

It’s always a pleasure to dive back into the world of Dark and Darker, right? With the release of Early Access Hotfix 70, there are some noteworthy adjustments that not only enhance gameplay but also Ensure a smoother experience for everyone. So, grab your favorite snack, settle in, and let’s explore what this update has in store!

Important Account Changes

First up on our list is an Necessary change regarding cross-platform logins. The developers have made a tough decision to support future DLC products while respecting customer rights for refunds. Soon, players who have linked their accounts across multiple platforms will need to select one main platform upon logging in. Once you’ve made that choice, all your account data will be tied exclusively to that platform chosen, no more hopping around!

However, there’s good news for our loyal Blacksmith supporters who bought the game before its wider release. Suppose you purchased either the Standard or Founders: Hold the Line Edition on Blacksmith before June 7th, 2024 (the day we launched on Epic Games Store and Steam). In that case, you’ll get a one-time opportunity to switch your account over to either of those mainstream platforms if you haven’t already done so. More details on this feature will be shared as we move forward.

Arena Updates with MMR System

The excitement doesn’t stop there! The team has introduced an MMR (Matchmaking Rating) system for Arena matches. This means that as you engage in battles within the Arena, you’ll earn a rating based on your performance, a fantastic way to track your improvement or where you might need a little extra practice.

This feature is currently experimental but promises to refine matchmaking quality significantly. Plus, they’re planning an additional Arena Ranking system soon! How thrilling does that sound? Alongside these additions, they’ve taken time to improve quality of life elements within the Arena itself and even reintroduced monsters, which adds just enough chaos back into our dungeon runs.

Patching Up Bugs

No update would be complete without addressing pesky bugs! Here are some highlights from the fixes implemented:

  • Fixed issues with visibility in lobbies and parties.
  • Tackled problems where items were lost after extracting from dungeons.
  • Additions like re-adding monsters and loot boxes during tiebreaker rounds really spice things up!
  • Pested out bugs where certain actions could interfere with gameplay flow, like monsters moving unexpectedly or players being attacked right after spawning.
  • Improved sound clarity in various locations because we all know how distracting muffled audio can be during an intense battle!

Quality of Life Improvements

The development team has been busy polishing countless aspects of gameplay, from minor tweaks like improved scroll bar visibility in merchant lists to adding features like request-to-join party options and chat report functions for maintaining community standards.

This hotfix not only enhances existing mechanics but shows how much care IRONMACE puts into making Dark and Darker an immersive experience for all players involved. As always, thank you for your understanding as they work diligently behind the scenes. We can’t wait to see what adventures await us next time we descend into those treacherous dungeons.
