Ironmace has released a new Dark and Darker Early Access Hotfix 60 related to further improving the new matchmaking system. The update is supposed to surprise its player base as it allows direct Dungeon Access and Base Camp toggle.
As Ironmace said:
This update fixes the new matchmaking system and allows us to toggle off the base camp. Adventurers will now be placed directly into the dungeons at the start of an adventure instead of congregateing in the base camp. We have also adjusted several setting that we feel should lead to better quality matches, albiet at slightly longer queue times for adventurers with a gearscore of 25 or higher. Players also now have the option to toggle off the base camp feature, providing a more seamless transition into the game. This adjustment is expected to enhance the overall gameplay experience by minimizing unnecessary waiting times.
Other matchmaking settings relate to the Solo and Duo queues. If players now queue Solo or Duo, and if they cannot find a suitable match, then they will be ported back to the menu. You can find more details on this, below:
We have also updated the random matchmaking system so that solo queue players will now have their matchmaking canceled when there are no remaining players or teams to match up with, instead of automatically placing them in a session at a disadvantage. This circumstance usually occurs to the lowest gearscore solo player remaining after the all other solo/duo players have been placed into a team. If you receive this message, we suggest re-queuing after increasing your gearscore.
There are also situations where duo teams that use the random matchmaking system to play a trio match may still end up as a duo due to lack of remaining solo players to combine with. In this situation, we will attempt to create a session with all the remaining duo teams. We may adjust this logic in real-time in the future.
Dark and Darker Early Access 60 Hotfix
- Fixed an issue that could cause frame drops when hitting.
- Fixed an issue where the chat UI might not pop up properly when the other party entered a chat message.
- Fixed an issue where the matching status might not be restored properly when matchmaking fails.
- Fixed an issue where the entry AP reduction was not applied properly when there was no basecamp.
- Fixed an issue where the Golden Felling Axe’s movement speed penalty was -35 instead of -30.
- For testing purposes, we’ve made it so that matchmaking fails if no suitable teammates are found during random matchmaking.
