Cyberpunk 2077 players are about to get a fresh dose of Night City action as Patch 2.3 drops tomorrow, July 17th. This update introduces new quests that unlock vehicles, additional customization options for cars, and several welcome technical improvements, including Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) support for the PS5. If you thought 2.2 was packed, wait till you see what’s coming next.
The delay from the original June 26th release date might have tested some nerves, but it looks like the wait will be worth it. CD Projekt Red is sticking to a similar scale of updates as the last patch, focusing on expanding gameplay with new vehicle features, quality-of-life tweaks, and graphical enhancements.
Patch 2.3 Highlights
- New quests that unlock new vehicles
- Additional paint options for vehicles
- Auto drive functionality added to vehicles
- Introduction of a taxi service
- Expanded photo mode features
- Quality of life improvements
- Improved HDR settings
- VRR support on PS5
- and more…
It’s kinda neat to see the auto drive and taxi service additions, which should change how players get around Night City. Plus, more paint options mean you can really make those rides your own. HDR improvements and VRR support on PlayStation 5 suggest the developers are still fine-tuning the visual experience, which is always welcome.
CD Projekt Red plans to reveal the full patch notes during a livestream scheduled for July 16th at 4:00 p.m. BST / 5:00 p.m. CEST. Given their history, the update may be released on the same day or shortly after. Also, the update coincides with the game’s Mac release, so it’s a busy week for Cyberpunk fans.
