Counter-Strike 2 to Receive Nvidia Reflex Low Latency Technology

Nvidia’s Reflex Low Latency technology is officially coming to Counter-Strike 2, Valve’s highly-anticipated sequel to the immensely popular Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. The confirmation follows rumors circulating among the gaming community and data miners, and now fans can look forward to a more responsive gaming experience via The Verge.

Nvidia’s Reflex technology significantly reduces the time between a player’s mouse click and the on-screen action. This reduction in latency is crucial in competitive first-person shooter games, where split-second reactions can mean the difference between victory and defeat. Until now, CS: GO was the most-played game on Steam without Reflex support.

The partnership between Valve and Nvidia has resulted in the integration of Reflex technology in Counter-Strike 2. Players using GeForce GTX 900 series GPUs or higher can enable Reflex in the new game. Older GPUs will likely see the most significant improvements, with Nvidia claiming that Reflex can reduce system latency by up to 35 percent in Counter-Strike 2.

Nvidia has provided data showcasing latency improvements across various GPU models, including the yet-to-be-announced RTX 4070. According to their findings, a GTX 1060-equipped machine running at 1440p with Intel’s Core i9-12900K will see latency lowered from 26ms to 17ms. For an RTX 3060, latency will drop from 16ms to 11ms, while the upcoming RTX 4070 will see latency reduced from 10ms to 8ms.

Previosuly, we had intel on this addition when one of the data miners revealed that Nvidia Reflex Low Latency had been added to the game.
