Season Three has just launched in Counter-Strike 2, bringing some fresh updates to the game’s competitive scene that players will want to know about. Whether you’re grinding for that shiny new Season Three Medal or curious about changes to maps and weapons, this update touches on all of that, plus a neat new feature to protect your helpful in-game items.
First up, the medal system is back! Your medal color will reflect the highest CS Rating you earn during the season, and the bars show your total Premier match wins, you get a bar for every 25 wins, up to five bars. To snag a medal, you’ll need a good standing account, at least 25 Premier match wins, and an active CSR by the end of the season. Pretty straightforward, right?
Now, about the maps. Overpass is making a comeback to the Active Duty Map Pool, while Anubis is taking a break for this season. I kinda missed Overpass, so this is good news for those who love its layout and strategies.
The gameplay tweaks are interesting. The incendiary grenade’s fire now spreads faster, which should help slow down rushing Terrorists more effectively. The MP9 got hit with a nerf, too: its spray is harder to control, and its jumping accuracy has taken a noticeable dip. This might disrupt some of the aggressive plays that relied on that weapon. Additionally, the CT economy has been adjusted; now, CTs receive a shared team reward for every T they eliminate in a round, regardless of the outcome. This change means that staying competitive and close in rounds will help CTs have more money to spend overall.
One standout addition is the trade protection feature. If you ever lose control of your account or fall victim to a scam, you can reverse all your Counter-Strike item trades from the past seven days. This is a significant development because it adds an extra layer of security to your inventory. You can check your recent trades and use the trade reversal option on the Trade History page in your Steam Account. If you want to know the nitty-gritty details about what happens when trades get reversed, Valve has a handy FAQ page.
What do you think about the MP9 nerf? Will the CT economy change shift how rounds play out? And honestly, how many of you have worried about item scams before? I’m kinda curious if this trade protection will become a go-to safety net. Let me know your thoughts in the comments below!
