The world of Core Keeper is about to get a whole lot bigger! On March 10, the “Bags & Blasts” update will introduce exciting new content to enrich your cozy mining adventure. This update brings not just one but a brand-new area to uncover alongside an all-new skill tree and one of the game’s most formidable bosses yet. Let’s take a closer look at what awaits you.

Publisher Fireshine Games and developer Pugstorm have crafted an update that speaks directly to the heart of the Core Keeper community. The addition of the Oasis sub-biome within The Desert of Beginnings allows players to discover rich landscapes and adorable creatures like the Drohmble, a camel-like companion you can ranch for resources.

This new area isn’t just about exploration; it opens up opportunities for crafting mid-to-late game weaponry using valuable (if somewhat pungent) materials dropped by these charming critters. It’s always delightful when gameplay intertwines with unexpected discoveries like these!

The real centerpiece of this update is the monumental boss fight against Nimruza, Queen of the Burrowed Sands. Imagine facing off against a gigantic super cicada in one of the biggest challenges yet. Whether you tackle her solo or rally some friends online, this battle promises to test your mettle.

In addition to these thrilling new elements, the update introduces an Explosives skill tree packed with eight new skills and fresh bomb types like the Void Bomb and Blunder Bomb. These additions offer new strategies for tackling enemies and navigating through caves—who doesn’t love a little creative chaos?

Pouches are also making their debut, allowing players to manage their items more effectively without cluttering their inventory. With dedicated spaces for different resource types, long expeditions away from your base became less daunting.

About the Bags & Blasts Update

  • Oasis Sub-Biome: Explore the sun-soaked sands of Oasis with its own unique resources and flora, plus meet the Drohmble.
  • Explosives Skill Tree and Grenade Weapon Type: Unlock eight new skills in this explosive branch for a fresh playstyle.
  • New Bomb Types: Discover powerful bombs including the Void Bomb and multi-blast Blunder Bomb to aid in your journey.
  • Inventory Overhaul: Pouches help organize items efficiently while a hotbar swapping feature allows quick access to essential gear.
  • Supersized Boss Fight: Face off against Nimruza in one of Core Keeper‘s largest boss fights yet.

Core Keeper, available on various platforms including PS5, Xbox Series, PS4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC via Steam, continues to evolve in delightful ways.

You can catch a glimpse of what’s coming in the trailer below:

This update feels like a warm embrace for both veterans and those who may be new to this charming world. How do you feel about these upcoming additions? Let us know in the comments below!
