Conan Exiles’ Head Hunter Event Runs Through August 30 With Faction-Locked Rewards
Players can choose between the Khitan Bounty Hunters and Dogs of the Desert while collecting skulls, competing on leaderboards, and earning exclusive gear.

Conan Exiles Enhanced is running its revamped Head Hunter Event from August 18 through August 30, 2026. Players can pledge themselves to the Khitan Bounty Hunters or the Dogs of the Desert, then hunt for skulls, bodies, and faction rewards. Funcom shared the event details in its announcement.
The event gives both PvE and PvP players a reason to leave their bases behind. Sorcerer priests and Khitan bounty hunters can appear in human camps, while each faction has 10 merchant locations per map. Four skull types are available to collect: Magi, Sorcerer, Bounty Hunter, and Bounty Hunter Leader.
How the two factions compete
Joining either faction is only the beginning. Players can change sides by paying a small currency fee at the vendors, with the Khitan Bounty Hunters using Ancient Obolus and the Dogs of the Desert using Flesh Lucre.
On PvP servers, hunters can target players from the opposing faction and climb the event’s bounty board. The top bounty hunter when the event ends will receive extra rewards. PvE players can complete commissions and kills to rise through their faction’s leaderboard, with the top players in each faction earning additional currency and a selectable T4 thrall.
Head Hunter rewards include new faction gear
Both factions will offer rewards from earlier versions of the event alongside new items that are locked to each side. The reward pools include epic armor and crafting sets themed around sorcery and craftsmanship, plus named followers, armor and weapon fittings, and decorative placeables.
The Dogs of the Desert receive a new arcane-focused staff and faction armor, while the Khitan Bounty Hunters get a legendary bow. The event also adds flashy VFX placeables for players who want their bases to make a little more noise visually.
New Giant-King items are coming to the Bazaar
Several Giant-King-themed items will be available in the Bazaar during the event. The lineup includes:
- The Great Serpent’s Gift for alchemy and poisoner setups, with instruments for brewing venom.
- Warmaker’s Armory, a Giant-King-inspired smithy bundle.
- Soldier’s Refuge, a furniture set designed for a hardened soldier’s barracks.
- Vassal’s Estate, a building set inspired by the grandeur of the old civilization.
The Bazaar additions tie into the ongoing Legacy of the Giant-Kings story arc, which has already taken players beneath the Unnamed City and into the Cyclopean Halls.
Funcom also linked the event announcement to the August patch 2.1.0 notes for the wider update details.
