Company of Heroes’ 20th Anniversary Has Final Stand, a Definitive Edition, and More Ahead

The anniversary roadmap covers Company of Heroes 3 updates through the end of 2026, including the upcoming 2.5.0 and 3.0 releases.

Company of Heroes is celebrating its 20th anniversary with a roadmap covering the franchise’s plans through the end of 2026. The Steam announcement points to new content for Company of Heroes 3, a standalone wave-defense release, and the return of the original game in a new edition.

The anniversary schedule follows several major releases that have already arrived in 2026, including Topaz Rhino (2.3.0) and the Dare & Destroy Battlegroup DLC for Company of Heroes 3. The next major milestone will be Final Stand, a standalone wave-defense experience set within the franchise.

Company of Heroes 3 update 2.5.0

Final Stand will launch alongside Company of Heroes 3 update 2.5.0. The update will bring balance and gameplay changes, new maps, and a refreshed lobby screen.

The roadmap does not provide a specific release date for either Final Stand or update 2.5.0. Both are presented as part of the continuing anniversary celebration.

Company of Heroes: Definitive Edition

The centerpiece of the anniversary plans is Company of Heroes: Definitive Edition. The edition will bring the original strategy game to a new generation of players while giving longtime fans another way to play the title that started the series.

The team has not shared a release date yet. More information will arrive as development continues toward launch.

Update 3.0 is planned for later in 2026

Company of Heroes 3 will also receive a major 3.0 update later this year. The roadmap lists improvements to existing features, changed weather in parts of the Mediterranean, new cosmetics, and a sixth Battleground for Final Stand.

More details about update 3.0 will be shared closer to release. The announcement also teased additional franchise plans for 2027, extending the anniversary celebration beyond the current roadmap.

The roadmap gives Company of Heroes 3 players plenty to watch through the rest of 2026. Tell us which anniversary release or update you are looking forward to most in the comments, and follow us on X, Bluesky, YouTube, and Instagram.
