TeamKill Media released the first update for Code Violet as version 1.000.025 on January 10, 2026. The patch focuses on a set of early fixes: inventory and storage problems, a weapon input lock, accessibility options for subtitles, and performance tweaks for PS5 and PS5 Pro.
The update also cleans up a handful of environment and collision issues that could trap players or produce confusing visual feedback.
Patch Notes
Below is a short overview of the most visible changes and who they matter to. The patch squashes some of the launch-era bugs that affected inventory systems and player input. Players on PS5 and PS5 Pro will see targeted Lumen tweaks for smoother performance. The official notes follow exactly as published by the developer.
Bug Fixes
- Resolved an issue where the first gear pouch (used for inventory upgrades) would rarely not respawn after death and reload.
- Fixed a bug that caused items in Global Storage to incorrectly consume and delete items from the player’s inventory when used. Items in Global Storage are now properly restricted – only inventory items can be used as intended.
Gameplay Improvements
- Enhanced weapon selection system to prevent input spamming that could lock the ability to fire.
- Added three customizable size options for subtitles to improve accessibility.
Balance & Visual Adjustments
- Significantly increased the visual intensity of the poison effect for clearer feedback when the player is poisoned ☠️.
- Improved crouch and prone detection when standing up, with higher upward push to prevent getting stuck under low overhangs.
Performance Optimizations
- Applied targeted tweaks to Hardware Lumen Global Illumination for better performance on PS5 and PS5 Pro.
Level & Environment Fixes
- Removed invisible collision on the chandelier chain in the ballroom.
- Removed a floating object (dino turd) in the factory area of the bio-engineering lab 💩.
