Code Vein II will launch on PS5 on January 30, 2026, and publisher Bandai Namco opened pre-orders the same day alongside a new Release Date Reveal Trailer shown at State of Play.
The PlayStation Blog post outlines story and combat details, while the trailer offers a first look at characters, new weapon types, and the Forma powers that will shape battles.
A PlayStation Blog post highlights the game’s time-spanning setup, where players travel between the present and 100 years in the past to alter the fates of Revenants and uncover the origin of the Luna Rapacis. The trailer also introduces Lavinia, who sends the protagonist on the mission, and Josee, a companion who joins the protagonist in the past timeline.
Code Vein II keeps familiar weapons from the first game, such as one-handed swords and halberds, and adds two new types, called Rune Blades and Dual Swords. Blood-draining attacks return through The Jail equipment, and new blood actions named Reaper and Bat expand attack options.
The game’s supernatural powers, Forma, allow players to transform basic strikes into dramatic techniques or ranged attacks. The trailer teases a Traditional Forma called Absolute Execution Sword, which summons an enormous blade that deals massive damage while opening the wielder for counterattacks.
Partner systems
Partners are physically linked to the protagonist as a core on the back and affect both story and combat. Two partner mechanics were detailed: Summon, which brings a partner into physical form to fight, and Assimilation, which channels a partners power into the player for powerful, high-damage attacks.
Pre orders and editions
Pre-orders are available now. The PlayStation post lists multiple digital editions, including Digital Ultimate and Digital Deluxe. The Digital Ultimate Edition includes items such as three-day early access, a character costume set, a digital mini artbook and soundtrack, a custom outfit pack, and an expansion DLC called Mask of Idris. A pre-order or early purchase bonus includes the Stylized Forma Set.
