Black Ops Cold War released today, and together with it, our determination on setting up guides for best weapon modifications. Unlocking all of the attachments for each weapon takes a lot of time, as we’ve been playing pretty much the whole day and been stuck on the XM4. For a weapon of this caliber, it shouldn’t be that unstable, and with the set of attachments given in-game, it’s kind of worse than the AK-47. Nevertheless, we do expect to see an XM4 buff from Treyarch soon.
As you can see, we’re taking it slow with these guides, as we’re greatly concerned about their precision. We’ve played the XM4 pretty much this whole day until we found the best fitting mods. With recoil and weapon stability taken into view, I’d suggest you not to play with this weapon as there are multiple other choices to go for, which are usually better than the XM4 itself. After all, we’re talking about a video game.
CoD: Black Ops Cold War Best XM4 Attachments
Without further ado, let’s jump to the weapon attachments. As in the previous two guides, we’re using the Gunfighter perk, so we get the max stability, especially on this AR-15 gun that’s quite jumpy. Weapon stability will always be a priority in our eyes, and that is pretty much what you should go for if you’re playing an assault rifle.
- Optic: Millstop Reflex (due to the extra magnification compared to the other reflex scope)
- Muzzle: Socom Eliminator
- Barrel: 13.5″ Reinforced Heavy
- Body: Steady Aim Laser
- Underbarrel: Field Agent Grip
- Magazine: Jungle-Style Mag
- Handle: Airborne Elastic Wrap
- Stock: Sas Combat Stock or Raider Stock are both considered to be vital choices.
Since it’s in the AR family and not SMG, do not be sad for the hip-fire accuracy. If you’re playing this AR weapon, we assume you’re more of a mid-long range fighter rather than close combat, even if the game and the current maps are somewhat made for CQB weapons. We needed around 10 hours to unlock everything and complete this guide. We also unlocked both the “Sad Face” and “Moustache” Reticles for the weapon. They look funny!
We hope this guide would fit you too! Don’t forget, if you have anything to suggest, please let us know in the comments below! P.S. moving on another weapon.
Why does the gun look different there in the picture
Thanks for your comment! It’s because we are using an already existing blueprint for it which applies a different skin.
