CD Projekt Red Loses $1 billion after the disturbing Cyberpunk 2077 launch

If you are not familiar with the Cyberpunk 2077 drama, we’re here to remind you that Sony has boarded the complaints and outcries with the removal of Cyberpunk 2077 from the PlayStation store. An unfortunate scenario for CD Projekt Red with a shocking $1 billion loss due to the same issue.

The action RPG doesn’t seem to be satisfying on consoles. Flaws are prevailing most of the time, for which further actions had to be taken. Sadly, that action reflected badly on CD Projekt Red’s resume. Failed to load textures and repeated game crashes have been issues that have put Cyberpunk 2077 on this pedestal. With all the backlash given in their and Sony’s way, something had to be done.

The Console Ports have been bad, and CD Projekt Red has admitted that in an open statement. When they delayed the game the last time, they said it’s due to candidates’ release on all platforms. They were pushed to test around 9 versions of the game, for which obviously they didn’t. All those console issues and crashes threaded through without being reported, which is something unknown in CD Projekt Red’s book so far.

The company has fallen quite low as the launch week pushed through, and the neverending complaints have just become stronger. Cyberpunk 2077’s temporary removal from the PlayStation Store has been obviously approved by the players, which now can get their full refunds. Even if this turned out to be a costly predicament for the company, we believe that Cyberpunk 2077 will soon get its promised fixes and return to the PlayStation Store.
