In an impressive hiring spree, Polish game developer CD Projekt Red has onboarded more than 50 new employees in the last four months. These recruits will bolster development efforts on The Witcher 4, among other titles. Although The Witcher 4 is the only project currently in active production, CDPR is strengthening teams across nearly all its departments.
CD Projekt Red’s recent earnings statement for fiscal year 2024 highlights its ongoing success with Cyberpunk 2077. There’s considerable talk surrounding The Witcher 4’s announcement, as it sported the most-watched trailer from The Game Awards and received extensive press coverage.
From late November to February, CDPR welcomed 57 new employees. Of these, 11 joined the already large team working on The Witcher 4, raising its headcount to an impressive 411.
The most significant increase in staffing came from the team behind Project Orion, a sequel to Cyberpunk. Their numbers grew by 20, expanding from 64 to 84 employees. Before this latest hiring initiative, CDPR reported sales of over 30 million copies of Cyberpunk 2077, including more than 8 million copies sold of Phantom Liberty.
