So, you might have heard about the talk surrounding Catly, right? Well, the developers, SuperAuthenti, just revealed some fresh gameplay footage to clear up all that drama over whether they used AI for their 2024’s The Game Awards trailer.
The accusations kept piling up despite them insisting that no AI was involved, like a parent adamantly denying they ate the last cookie. Seriously! It felt like everyone had an opinion on this. A PR rep from SuperAuthenti said something along the lines of, “We are very surprised by such speculations. We do not think there are any existing AI tools that can produce a video like that.” I can’t help but chuckle at how serious it all sounds!
They’ve uploaded gameplay to its Steam page if you’re curious (and you should be), and OMG, it displays the game running on Unreal Engine 5. Look at those graphics!
The description of Catly? Total vibes! It reads: “An open-world adventure filled with surprises and joy, side by side with Cats! Build your dream island, meet various characters, and enjoy caring for your cats, dressing up, building, farming, racing, skiing…and much more!” Like seriously? Who wouldn’t want to build an island paradise with adorable cats?
I’m left scratching my head, though… If they had this fantastic gameplay ready to go all along, why didn’t they share it sooner? I mean, c’mon guys, didn’t anyone notice how sketchy that original reveal trailer looked?
