Capcom, the developer of the popular survival horror game franchise Resident Evil, has recently confirmed that removing ray tracing options from Resident Evil 2 and 3 on Steam was a bug. The company has assured fans that it is working on a fix, which will be rolled out in a future update.
The confusion began when Capcom announced its plans to discontinue support for the non-enhanced versions of Resident Evil 7, 2, and 3 on PC later this year, making the ray tracing versions the only ones available on Steam. However, in an unexpected move, the company removed ray tracing and 3D audio options from all three games on the platform.
Capcom addressed the issue in a Twitter statement, explaining that removing these options was an unintentional bug: “We’re aware of an ongoing issue with the ray tracing option not appearing in the graphics menu and presets,” the company wrote. “We’ll have this addressed in a future update and apologize for any inconvenience.”
