Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 DMZ Turns Successful Runs Into FOB Progress

Story Missions, Dynamic Operations, and Free Roam offer different ways to enter Hajin, while recovered resources help expand the Forward Operating Base.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 is scheduled to launch on October 23, 2026, with DMZ arriving alongside Campaign and Multiplayer. Successful deployments can expand a Forward Operating Base (FOB), turning recovered resources and mission progress into better preparation for the next run. PlayStation’s DMZ overview details how those systems fit together. The game is available for preorder on PS5 through PlayStation’s Modern Warfare 4 page.

Build out the FOB between deployments

The FOB handles preparation and progression. Operators lets you select an Active Duty Operator and check their status, while DMZ Orders keeps current missions together on a tablet. Stash and Loadout separate extracted items from the weapons and gear you take on your next deployment. A Firing Range gives you a place to test equipped weapons before heading back out.

More than a dozen stations are planned for the FOB, and DMZ progression runs from level 1 to 70, unlocking stations and rewards. The 3D Printer turns Resources and 3D Printer Ingredients into gear and can upgrade other stations. At the Gunsmith, DMZ Cash buys attachments for looted weapons. A Weapon Manual extracted from Hajin lets you build a new weapon.

The Vendor sells weapons and other gear for DMZ Cash, with its stock changing daily. For intel, the Bounty Leaderboard tracks dangerous PvP hunters and killers, while the Boss Board helps locate Lieutenants. The Dog Tag Case gives you a place to display tags from defeated Operators.

Choose a deployment that fits your run

DMZ offers three ways into Hajin. Story Missions let you select and replay narrative objectives for major rewards. Dynamic Operations put you directly into an operation for DMZ Cash and XP, with each completed operation granting your squad a Supply Drop of increasing rarity. Free Roam skips a mission and lets you explore Hajin City.

For XP, prioritize Story Missions, Dynamic Operations, and Orders. Lieutenants and Commanders roam Hajin, and defeating them earns XP, weapons, and high-value loot. Regular looting supplies items for the FOB’s 3D Printer and improves your match rating. Your After Action Report accounts for combat, loot, and completed objectives in your deployment rating, with S Tier or better bringing the best rewards.

Vehicles offer faster travel across land, water, and air, and the Gas Station is where you can repair and refuel them. DMZ’s map is Hajin, which spans South Korea, North Korea, and Russia. Each area has its own Threat Level, and loud play can draw a violent enemy response specific to that zone. Moving quietly may keep a deployment from becoming a fight before you’re ready.
