Call of Duty: Mobile’s World Finals Are Heading to Mexico City

The 16-team tournament will begin on December 4 with a $500,000 prize pool.

Activision has announced that the 2026 Call of Duty: Mobile World Championship will take place in Mexico City, Mexico, with the world finals beginning on December 4. The tournament will feature a $500,000 prize pool and bring 16 teams together for the final stage of the competition.

The announcement came through the official Call of Duty: Mobile Esports account, which confirmed that this year’s finals are moving to Mexico City. The post described the event as a battle for the $500,000 prize pool and included the message “VIVA LA CODM ESPORTS 🇲🇽” in its announcement on X.

Teams will compete across multiple game modes, with qualification coming through a combination of tournament victories and accumulated CODM points. Activision has not provided further details about the venue or the full schedule in the announcement.

Mexico City Continues the Championship’s Travels

The World Championship has moved between several North American cities in recent years. Raleigh, North Carolina hosted the event in 2022, followed by Atlanta, Georgia in 2023 and 2024. Last year’s tournament took place in Katowice, Poland, where Qing Jiu Club claimed the largest share of an $850,000 prize pool.

That means the 2026 prize pool is $350,000 lower than last year’s total. Even with the smaller purse, the Mexico City finals will remain one of the main events on the Call of Duty esports calendar, with 16 teams competing for the title.

Activision also released a 2026 World Championship roadmap outlining the tournament’s path to the finals.

Call of Duty: Mobile has continued to build out its competitive and seasonal schedule alongside its esports events. Recent in-game plans have included large crossover releases and new modes, including the Persona 5 Royal season.

Mexico City will host the 2026 World Championship finals beginning December 4. More information about the participating teams, venue, and match schedule has not yet been announced.
