Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is getting a small but meaningful change after launch. Treyarch has confirmed that Endgame mode will no longer be gated behind campaign progress and will be available to everyone from November 21. The developer posted the change on its socials and said the new approach starts tomorrow. Treyarch’s post on X notes the decision follows player feedback, and the studio has seen “an awesome response” to Endgame so far.
We've seen an awesome response to Endgame from players who've already been dropping in, so we're making it available to everyone in #BlackOps7 starting Friday, Nov. 21.

Endgame is a 32-player PvE mode set on the large Avalon map where teams race through varied objectives and attempt an extraction. The mode has been one of the more praised parts of the launch despite the single-player campaign dominating conversation. Previously players had to finish the campaign before they could queue for Endgame. That requirement will be removed, so anyone who owns the game can jump straight into Endgame without playing the story.
Players who already completed the campaign will get a compensation bundle. Treyarch listed the items as:
- 3x 1-Hour Double Level XP Tokens
- 3x 1-Hour Double Weapon XP Tokens
- 3x 1-Hour Double Battle Pass XP Tokens
- 3x Perkaholic GobbleGum
For readers who want a refresher on how Endgame works, the mode was detailed earlier in our Endgame overview. That piece explains the objectives, map flow, and how the PvE encounter differs from traditional Call of Duty multiplayer. This change should make it easier for players who bought Black Ops 7 mainly for its multiplayer and co-op offerings to access what many consider the most interesting part of the package.
