Exciting news is coming from EA as they give us a sneak peek into the future of the Battlefield franchise. They’ve shared some pre-alpha gameplay footage and details about a community testing program that sounds like a dream for fans eager to hear their voices.
The fresh gameplay footage, albeit brief at just about ten seconds, is part of a video introducing the talented studios behind this new entry in the series. You can check it out right above. It’s always fun to see those early glimpses. It gets you thinking about what might be on the way!
EA has confirmed a recent leak regarding their new testing environment titled Battlefield Labs. According to them, it’s designed as a collaborative space where players can test new concepts and experiences. The goal here seems pretty clear: they want players to play an active role in shaping what Battlefield will become.
“This is an unprecedented moment for Battlefield,” EA shared. They plan to kick things off by focusing on core elements like combat and destruction before moving on to balance feedback for weapons and vehicles. It sounds like they’re laying the groundwork before diving deeper. How refreshing!
The excitement doesn’t stop there; we’ll also see familiar modes like Conquest and Breakthrough being tested alongside more experimental ideas for fine-tuning class systems such as Assault, Engineer, Support, and Recon. If you enjoy tactical play, this could be your chance to influence how these classes function in future games.
If you’re interested in participating (and who wouldn’t be?), registration is now open to join this exclusive testing phase. Initially, invites will go out to several thousand players across Europe and North America, but eventually, EA plans to widen this net significantly.
The development team consists of four internal studios, all working together under the banner of Battlefield Studios. Each studio brings something unique: DICE handles multiplayer aspects; Motive works on maps and single-player missions; Criterion focuses mainly on single-player content, while Ripple Effect aims to create exciting new experiences for fans.
