Borderlands: Dead ECHOs Episode 2 Takes Watts and Junie Deeper Into Their Schemes
The second chapter introduces the confounding Postmaster while the pair juggles DAHL danger, counterfeit weapons, and improvised scams.
Borderlands: Dead ECHOs has continued with its second episode, putting Watts and Junie one week into their uneasy partnership. The pair is still learning how to work together while turning stolen ECHO secrets into cash and dealing with danger connected to DAHL.
The new chapter brings in the mysterious Postmaster and sends the duo through a strange collection of schemes involving air ducts, code names, pumps, dumps, dummies, fantasy cruises, and counterfeit firearms. Their attempts to deliver their own version of justice remain messy, profitable, and very much dependent on improvisation.
Gearbox describes Borderlands: Dead ECHOs as its first scripted narrative podcast. The dark comedy takes place in the chaotic Borderlands universe and follows Watts, a frustrated DAHL ECHO Operator who earns extra money by searching undeliverable ECHO logs for secrets he can sell.
Watts’ routine changes when Junie, a stranger with ambitious plans, helps him escape trouble. The two form a business partnership, with Junie pushing Watts toward a Robin Hood-style approach to their criminal operation. That plan draws attention from mercenaries, outlaws, and DAHL’s corporate hit squad, which is led by rogue executive Vivian Proctor.
The first episode established the pair’s unusual arrangement, and the opening Dead ECHOs chapter began the limited series’ weekly rollout. Episode 2 keeps that story moving as Watts and Junie try to find a rhythm before DAHL-related trouble catches up with them.
Gearbox shared the new chapter through its official Steam announcement. The limited series will continue with new episodes debuting weekly.
