Nintendo confirmed on March 3, 2026 that Blue Prince will arrive on Nintendo Switch 2 later today. The announcement closed the Indie World Showcase and specifically called out support for mouse controls when played with the Joy-Con 2.
The game is a puzzle title that asks players to keep notes and track their movements while hunting for the elusive Room 46. Blue Prince launched in April 2025 on other platforms and currently holds a 92 Metacritic score. The Switch 2 release brings the critically praised 2025 title to Nintendo’s new hardware after it missed the original Switch at launch.
Creator and community reaction has been strong. LocalThunk, the developer behind Balatro, praised Blue Prince as one of the best games he has played. The Blue Prince team also publicly denied claims that generative AI was used in the game and published a statement addressing those allegations.
Switch 2 continues to receive ports and system updates from multiple publishers. For an example of other Switch 2 ports, see the report that three Resident Evil games will launch on Nintendo Switch 2 on the same day.
