World of Warcraft players briefly found themselves using Mage Tower druid forms, the werebear, and the sparklekitty in Legion Remix. Still, Blizzard has removed the appearances after calling their availability an unintended bug. Players reported seeing the old Mage Tower bear and cat cosmetic forms available in the barbershop at Legion Remix launch. Screenshots and forum posts popped up showing druids wearing the visuals that were earned initially during Legion’s Mage Tower challenge.
Blizzard posted on the official forums that the forms had appeared because of an unexpected bug and that the studio was working to fix it. With this week’s reset in NA and EU, the developer applied a hotfix, and those forms are no longer usable for players who hadn’t earned them in Legion. The studio’s message was straightforward: the forms shouldn’t have been available, and they have been removed.
Due to an unexpected bug, Legion Remix launched with a circumstance where druid players could use bear and cat forms that they did not earn.
Please know that we’re working on fixing this (and other bugs), and when we do fix it, we expect that the forms will no longer be usable for players who didn’t earn them.

People on Reddit and the official forums split into two camps. Some were genuinely thrilled to get a brief taste of a cosmetic that was otherwise unobtainable. In contrast, others felt it was right to keep the forms exclusive to players who completed the Mage Tower back in Legion. The discussion also included calls for a future way to earn the forms again legitimately, but Blizzard has not indicated plans to reopen access.

This comes after other Legion Remix adjustments earlier this season; for context, Blizzard recently adjusted power gains and reset some players in response to exploits, a thread we covered in our earlier report. If you saw the forms on your character and they disappeared with the reset, that’s the hotfix at work. Players who earned the cosmetics during Legion should still be able to use them.
