Treyarch has published a short developer update responding to playtest feedback from the Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 beta, which lists several concrete gameplay changes coming before launch. The four-minute Dev Talk focuses on one straightforward fix, the Dexterity perk had become a literal crutch in the beta because it was required to aim down sights while sliding, diving, and wall-jumping. Treyarch will remove that requirement, so those moves no longer need a perk slot to perform while ADS.
That change alone will reshape how players build classes. The update also lists a handful of other adjustments: louder footsteps, changes to slide speed and distance, faster mantling, and tweaks to aim assist. Perks will be redistributed to ensure the most potent effects aren’t all concentrated in the same slot.
Those listening closely will recognize this as the kind of post-beta pivot studios sometimes make when a mechanic becomes unintentionally mandatory. Players who took part in the test saw the problem firsthand. Activision already posted the open beta dates and codes earlier, and community pushback also helped push the studio to rethink certain choices, including cosmetic plans that were later canceled.
The game remains scheduled for release on November 14, 2025, across PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC. Treyarch and Raven Software are listed as developers. Short, targeted fixes like this tend to calm the most obvious pain points while keeping the overall feel of multiplayer intact. The Dexterity change reduces boring slot-pressure and should open up more interesting perk choices at launch.
