Black Myth: Wukong will finally be coming to Xbox platforms on August 20, 2025, marking its first anniversary after the initial release on PlayStation and PC. Xbox fans waiting to experience this acclaimed action title will get their chance soon, and there’s a sweet deal too: a 20% discount on both standard and premium editions during the launch period.

Game Science announced the Xbox release date, confirming that pre-orders open June 18. If you grab it before July 11, you can snag the discount. The wait was longer than expected due to technical challenges optimizing the game for the Xbox Series S, which has limited shared memory compared to the Series X. That hiccup caused some delays, but it’s all sorted now.

Initially, rumors hinted at PlayStation exclusivity, but those were debunked. Game Science did mention receiving tons of support from Sony, which helped them craft this award-winning title that caught millions of eyes in 2024.

  • Release Date: August 20, 2025
  • Pre-orders start: June 18, 2025
  • Discount: 20% off standard and premium editions until July 11
  • Platforms: Xbox Series X and Series S
  • Reason for Delay: Optimization issues with Xbox Series S memory limitations

It’s wild that technical specs held things up for so long, but I guess that happens when a game pushes hardware boundaries. Are you planning to pick it up on day one? I’m curious how it’ll run on Series S compared to Series X!

Check out the original announcement and watch for more Xbox updates. Meanwhile, here’s a fun fact—Game Science gave a shoutout to Sony’s support during development, which might surprise a few folks.
