House House has explained why Big Walk will not come to Xbox. The Australian studio is honoring the Palestinian-led Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement’s call to boycott Microsoft, rather than keeping the game off Xbox through an exclusivity deal. The movement identifies Microsoft Games and Xbox as priority boycott targets. House House says it would like people to play the game on Xbox, but only if Microsoft and/or Xbox are removed from that list.

House House says keeping Big Walk off Xbox runs counter to its goal of bringing groups of friends together. Some players will miss out, and the studio says it shares their disappointment. It connects its decision to a belief that coordinated collective action can confront powerful interests and help bring change, with the hope that one day Palestine will be free.

Reports about the Israeli military’s use of a customized Microsoft Azure service to store data from intercepted telecommunications in Gaza and the West Bank contributed to employee protests and Xbox’s addition to the BDS priority-target list. Earlier reporting on that Azure use details the issue. House House also points players to the BDS movement’s Microsoft campaign explainer, its account of pressure connected with Microsoft’s decision to block Israel’s use of its technology for mass surveillance of Palestinians, and an introductory video by People Make Games.
House House announced in June 2026 that Big Walk would come to computers, Nintendo Switch 2, and PS5. The game launched on August 4, with its PS5 version joining PlayStation Plus Essential on launch day.
