Bethesda has announced its plans to launch official mod support for Starfield in 2024. This was confirmed in a recent interview with Famitsu, where game director Todd Howard expressed the studio’s commitment to modding.

Drawing parallels to their earlier titles like The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and Fallout 4, Howard said, “You will be able to do almost anything, just like in previous works.” This reveals Bethesda’s desire to ensure the modding experience for Starfield is as expansive and detailed as its previous offerings.

Howard highlighted their dedication: “Mod support will be available next year, but we love it too, so we’ll do it in a big way.”

Starfield’s release was met with significant anticipation and evident success. The game shattered Microsoft’s record for the most substantial launch day for an Xbox Game Studios title. Impressive stats indicate over six million individuals delved into the game on its initial release day. This included a staggering count of more than one million concurrent players.

The commitment to mod support and the game’s initial success highlights Bethesda’s continued dedication to its player base and the broader gaming community. Howard points out that the game was crafted with a keen eye for detail, from spacecraft design to intricate world-building. The introduction of mod support promises to add another layer of depth, allowing players to customize their space adventures further.
