Battlestate Games says it’s working to grant Arena Access to all players as soon as possible
Nikita Buyanov, the COO of Battlestate Games, took to Twitter to address the community’s concerns. He assured players that the team is diligently working to grant access to the Arena mode as swiftly as possible. This announcement comes after multiple waves of beta invites occurred over the past few days.
Following the launch, there was growing unrest within the community, particularly among long-time owners of the EoD edition, who felt left out of the initial beta wave. This led to multiple outcries on various social platforms, accusing Battlestate Games of not fulfilling their promise of free access to the Arena mode for these players.

In response to these concerns, Nikita’s tweet is crucial in reassuring the community. He emphasized that efforts are being made to ensure that everyone eligible, especially EoD players, will receive access to the Arena mode as soon as possible. This statement aims to reaffirm the commitment of Battlestate Games to their player base and to uphold the promises made regarding the new game mode.
This wasn’t reassuring at all. Edge of Darkness wasn’t “free” anything. It was the base game (a $58 value), some in game concessions and advancement, and access to Arena (a $37 value) for $120. Given the valuation of what has been realized by those who purchased EoD and what hasn’t… we overpaid. What’s more, BSG used the promise of closed beta access to get many of us to purchase EoD… and then used ACTUAL closed beta access to get consumers to buy the Arena standalone product. That’s bad faith at best, and potentially a bait and switch. I will be surprised if there isn’t a class action against them, especially considering the consumer protection laws in the UK (where BSG is legally established).
