Battlefield 6 will receive update 1.1.2.0 tomorrow, November 18 at 09:00 UTC. The incoming patch brings a proper pile of new content and a wide polish pass. The headline changes include a Southern California-themed map called Eastwood, a time-limited Sabotage event mode, two new weapons, and a reversion of aim assist back to the Open Beta values.
The list of additions is straightforward and player-facing. Eastwood will ship in multiple mode variants. Conquest on that map will let tanks, helicopters, and the Golf Cart loose on each other. Players can also try the new Sabotage event mode, focused on demolition, and a Gauntlet mission type called Rodeo, which emphasizes vehicle combat and awards bonus points for kills while mounted.
New kit items include the DB-12 shotgun and M357 Trait sidearm. Portal creators get a Sandbox starting option and the Golf Cart as a buildable vehicle. There is a limited-time Battle Pass bonus path called California Resistance, and a new underbarrel attachment called Slim Handstop unlocked via challenge. The patch also teases a later-in-update feature named Battle Pickups, powerful weapons with limited ammo for specific experiences and Portal builds.
Aim assist is one of the most consequential gameplay changes in this update. The developer has reset aim assist to the Open Beta tuning and restored related options to their defaults. That move rolls back the longer-range slowdown introduced at launch which players reported made high-zoom aiming feel inconsistent. For more on the background to this rollback and what it means for controller users, see our earlier coverage of aim assist tuning.
Beyond aim assist, this patch targets controller input latency and stick response, fixes a raft of weapon accuracy and dispersion issues, and cleans up deployable gadget behavior. The net effect should be smoother aiming, fewer animation and clipping bugs, and more predictable weapon performance across ranges.

Areas of Improvement
Aim Assist
As we got closer to launch, we revisited aim assist tuning based on internal testing and the full range of maps and combat distances coming with release. Our goal was to make aim assist feel more effective beyond mid-range fights which was one of our focuses within Battlefield Labs and Open Beta.
At launch, we increased slowdown at longer ranges, but once the game went live, we saw that this made high-zoom aiming feel less smooth and harder to control.
After reviewing player feedback and gameplay data, we’re reverting aim assist back to the values some of you experienced during Open Beta and Battlefield Labs. This will now serve as the default, whilst still providing you with the ability to alter the aim assist to your preference and playstyle via settings.
This change keeps aim slowdown consistent across all ranges, helping with muscle memory and providing a steadier, more reliable feel as we move into future seasons.
