According to Alinea Analytics, Battlefield 6 reportedly sold more than 6.5 million copies in its first few days across PC and consoles, a figure the report translates into just over $350 million in gross revenue. The estimated platform breakdown shows Steam at 56.7% of sales, more than 3.5 million copies, and roughly $220 million in revenue, PlayStation 5 at 23.7% with over 1.5 million copies, and Xbox Series consoles at 19.6% with more than 1.2 million copies.
Engagement has been strong. The game reached almost 750k concurrent players on Steam on release day, and the Steam daily active users have stayed roughly between 2.3 million and 2.5 million since launch, while PlayStation DAU has been around a million. That level of interest has come alongside some technical issues. On the competitive and anti-cheat front, Battlefield 6 is banning Cronus Zen users across PC and console.
The launch has also prompted colorful remarks in the developer community, including a short piece that quotes Battlefield leadership saying Call of Duty exists because “EA were dicks.” If you have thoughts on Battlefield 6’s launch or want to share a particularly memorable match, I’d love to hear them.
