Battlefield 6 players demand big cut to ‘awful’ weapon bloom after launch

Players say weapon bloom in Battlefield 6 is worse than the beta and is costing easy shots, prompting calls for DICE to dial it back.

Battlefield 6 players have sounded off about weapon bloom after the game’s launch, arguing the feature is noticeably worse than in the beta and is costing them obvious kills. Its Battlefield 6 player count on Steam surged past expectations quickly after launch, and a widely disliked gun mechanic can sour a large, fresh player base.

While the rollout has been a win for DICE and EA, the launch hasn’t been spotless. Players have reported a range of problems, including limited crossplay that draws bots into console lobbies, and others being temporarily locked out of the game due to a missing-content bug. The bloom complaints are separate, but loud.

Weapon bloom is a random factor that shifts where bullets land relative to your aim. Fans who said the beta’s guns were already too forgiving have noticed the final build’s bloom dialed up further, and they aren’t happy. The beta concerns were flagged in earlier coverage about weapon feel. “This bloom makes the game so much worse,” wrote Reddit user ‘Dnc601, posting a video of missed shots. “Extremely inconsistent. Feels awful.” Plenty of replies echoed that frustration, with one player asking why the issue wasn’t getting more attention.

Streamer Metaphor also weighed in, posting on X that the bloom needs adjusting before the BR mode arrives. Stats aggregator Battlefield 6 Meta argued bloom should be cut and recoil increased, so gun control matters more than RNG.

They need to adjust the bloom in #Battlefield6 badly.

Especially before the BR drops. @DRUNKKZ3 @tiggr_

HOT TAKE: Bloom should be significantly REDUCED & actual gun recoil should be INCREASED 🤷‍♂️

To hit targets at range you should learn how to control the gun rather than let RNG decide where your bullet goes.

Agree or disagree? 🤔 #Battlefield6 #BF6 https://t.co/C7tyTKCTGY

Bloom is tuned per weapon in Battlefield 6, so some guns suffer more. Players report LMGs feel particularly twitchy, while many ARs and SMGs are easier to handle.
