Recently, over an hour of Battlefield 6 gameplay surfaced online, stirring up excitement and debate among fans eager to see where the series is headed. The leaks offer a glimpse into the evolving mechanics and visuals, suggesting this installment might mark a notable shift for the franchise.
David Goldfarb, a former producer who worked on Battlefield: Bad Company, Bad Company 2, and Battlefield 3, shared his thoughts on the latest footage. His reaction? The gameplay gave him strong Bad Company 2 vibes, sparking memories of testing the iconic Arica Harbor map in 2010.
Goldfarb’s brief social media post captured the attention of many, highlighting the familiar feel of the new game’s destructible environments and current combat style. The Bad Company 2 era is often seen as the series’s high point, so this comparison carries weight among fans.
He wrote, “oh the BC2 vibes this is giving me, having flashbacks to the first time we playtested Arida Harbor.” This nod to the past suggests that Battlefield 6 might be tapping into some of the magic that made its predecessor so popular.

However, Goldfarb didn’t hold back on some criticisms. He found the movement mechanics “a little weird” and described the character designs as “very generic.”
Recent discussions have pointed out that combat rolling, a mechanic from Battlefield 5, appears to be returning but with less polish. The grounded, boots-on-the-ground aesthetic means players won’t see the flashy, colorful outfits from previous entries, which might explain the more conventional character models.
