Battlefield 6, developed by EA, is undergoing further live testing via a Battlefield Labs update that introduces larger maps, a server browser, and a Hardcore mode run-through. Labs builds are live now, and the whole game is due on October 10, so these tests matter before launch.
The recent community note from EA lays out what players can try in Labs. The significant additions include a server browser, accessible from the main menu, and persistent servers, as well as larger levels such as Operation Firestorm and Mirak Valley, to test how weapons and vehicles behave in more open environments.
The EA community update states that the server browser will be observed “to see how it works in practice, with initial feedback focusing on accessibility and UI clarity.” That phrasing matters because the UI and flow are the elements that can make a helpful browser, rather than just another menu item.
Operation Firestorm and Mirak Valley arrive so testers can try snipers at long range, assault rifles in mid-distance fights, and shotguns indoors. Vehicles from quad bikes to tanks and aircraft are also in the Labs mix, which should help iron out balance and handling quirks. Who wouldn’t want bigger maps to test the sandbox properly?
EA is also using Labs to set the official parameters for Hardcore mode, since kill times in the earlier beta felt very fast to many players. Ah, and if you were hoping for any visual filters, a developer said levels just carry “the actual atmospheric vibe of each particular location,” not a uniform post-process slapped on top.
