Battlefield 6 Introduces Controversial Quick Turn Feature on Consoles

Battlefield 6 adds a new quick turn mechanic on consoles that some players find unfair.

Battlefield 6 is trying to speed up player movement with some new options, including a quick turn mechanic that might catch you off guard. This feature allows players on consoles to instantly turn 180 degrees with a single button press, something that’s been tricky to pull off before with controllers.

Many players have noticed this new “flick look” setting during the open beta, and it has sparked a debate in the community. Some find it useful, while others feel it gives an unfair advantage, almost like cheating.

Streamer TacticalBrit highlighted this feature on X, showing how quickly players can spin around in combat. Previously, such quick turns were mostly possible only through macros or very high sensitivity settings, but now it’s built into the game’s controls.

Players using controllers with back paddles, like the DualSense Edge or Xbox Elite, can map this quick turn to those buttons, making it even easier to perform. Wow, seeing enemies whip around that fast can feel like they’re cheating at first glance.

Some gamers are okay with this addition, but many want DICE to remove the feature before it becomes a problem. I wouldn’t use it, but now I understand why some players have been so deadly during the beta. Guess it’s a bit of a climb to get used to facing opponents who can turn on a dime.

What do you think about this quick turn feature? Should it stay or go? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments below.
