EA has confirmed a one-week free trial for Battlefield 6, running from 25th November to 2nd December. Anyone can download and play during that period and will have access to five multiplayer modes and three maps. The free trial applies to the main game. While the Battle Royale mode Redsec remains free-to-play, the whole Battlefield 6 experience is a paid title outside the trial window.
Alongside the trial, Battlefield 6 kicked off its second content update for Season 1. The patch adds a new map called Eastwood, a time-limited Sabotage mode, and a batch of weapons, vehicles, and quality of life items. Redsec also received a new Gauntlet mission named Rodeo. The timing puts the trial across the US Thanksgiving week. That is a standard window for publishers to offer limited access because more players are likely to have free time and systems nearby. Rivals have used similar moves this season, as seen when Black Ops 6 opened a trial in late October.
If the trial hooks new players, they can keep progressing and purchase the game after the week ends. EA did not list any platform restrictions in its announcement, so expect the trial to be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
What to try during the week
- Five multiplayer modes including core large-scale matches.
- Three maps from the live matchmaking pool at the time of the trial.
- The new Eastwood map and Sabotage time-limited mode added in Season 1 update.
Players planning to test the trial should pre-download the client where possible to avoid delays on day one. Expect peak populations during prime US evening hours and crossplay queues to form quickly if interest spikes.
