Battlefield 6’s Steam free trial will now run through Tuesday, October 20, after some players encountered access problems on its first day. The underlying issue is fixed, and the Steam announcement also extends the 2x XP weekend through the same deadline. Players could access every available map and mode during the initial October 15–19 trial window.
The trial will end at 5 p.m. UTC, 10 a.m. PDT, 1 p.m. EDT, and 6 p.m. CEST. Players can use the extra time to earn Career Rank and weapon XP, as well as unlock Battle Pass tiers. The announcement says players are getting into matches on Area 51 and Vegas Strip.
How to get the Multiplayer files
If Multiplayer tiles are missing from the Steam trial, close and restart Steam. Then open the Battlefield 6 Store page and select “Play Game” to start downloading the required Multiplayer files. The advice is aimed especially at players who previously played REDSEC or ran into the first-day problem.
You can also check the download options in your Steam Library. Right-click Battlefield 6, select DLC, then choose which files Steam should download. Trial dates may vary by platform, and conditions and restrictions apply.
