Battlefield 6 players are reporting that the Engineer class now spawns with 5 RPG rockets when using the Anti-Armour field spec, a minor tweak with significant consequences for vehicular combat.
One player tested the change on Defence at Liberation Peak and found they could fire MBT-LAW missiles one after another until attacking tanks were reduced to scrap. The extra rockets remove the old dependency on supply bags for getting a full kit of anti-vehicle ordnance and let squads punish armour much more quickly after spawning. That observed change aligns with a Reddit post from DBONKA that explains the difference.
“Previously, this perk provided +2 max rockets, but it was balanced by the fact that you had to seek out a supply bag to get them and wait for the resupply. Now you spawn right away with them.”
Until now, the trade-off for extra rockets has been the need to find a supply bag and wait for resupply. That design nudged Engineers into a more tactical rhythm where you either guarded a resupply or made do with fewer missiles. With five rockets at spawn, Engineers can now deliver heavy punishment to tanks without relying on teammates to carry or place a bag.
What this means in matches is straightforward. Attack and defence modes like Rush and Breakthrough will feel rougher for drivers. Teams that stack Engineers or coordinate anti-vehicle pushes will find it easier to remove armour during an attack or strip it during defence. Players who liked the old resupply dynamic will have less reason to babysit a supply bag, and respawning becomes a quicker route to rearming.
There is no official patch note from the developer attached to the player reports at the time of writing, so it is not clear whether this change was intentional or an unintended tweak that slipped through. The community reaction on Reddit has been lively, with some players celebrating the new ability to contest vehicles more reliably and others worrying it tips the balance against combined arms play.
For now, the practical takeaway is simple. If you play Engineer with Anti-Armour equipped, expect to arrive on the field with more rockets than before, and bring a friend who likes to drive tanks if you enjoy vehicular mayhem.
