A gameplay glitch in Battlefield 6 has been discovered, allowing players to ride a drone high above the map and attempt long-range snipes from an unusual vantage point. The clip, shared by creator “GameHero,” makes this look simple to pull off and difficult to spot for opponents. The method is straightforward. A teammate deploys a drone, and the rider hops on top. While standing on the drone, the player pulls out a Sledgehammer and repeatedly strikes the drone. Each hit nudges the drone upward until it reaches a height limit. If you stop swinging, the drone will sink, but a few more hits will lift it again.
How the trick works
- Deploy the drone and have your teammate climb on.
- Jump onto the drone you want to ride.
- Take out a Sledgehammer and hit the drone repeatedly to gain height.
- Bring a sniper and a steady hand; a single precise headshot with a Sniper Rifle can be decisive.
The clip demonstrates that this tactic can place players far above typical sightlines. From that altitude, targets on the ground are often unsuspecting and easier to pick off if your aim is steady. It is a tricky move, though. Players are effectively falling through the sky while lining up shots, which makes timing and positioning important.

Tip: if you try this, pick a quiet moment to ascend and keep a teammate nearby to redeploy the drone if it falls. Minor adjustments with the hammer will correct drift while you aim.
This appears to be an unintended behavior rather than a designed feature, so that it could be patched in a future update. Until then, some players are using the game systems to farm kills or test the limits of vertical movement.
