Battlefield 6’s movement debate is still smoldering. Principal game designer Florian Le Bihan has told players the studio is “looking at adjustments” to try to find a middle ground after post-launch nerfs and a clutch of exploits stirred the community. Some players preferred the looser, faster feel from the open beta, while others welcomed the tighter, higher-risk movement of the full release. One player on X framed it as “zoomers” versus “Battledads” and asked for a compromise. Le Bihan replied that the team already has “some changes that are cooking” and is monitoring feedback for more.
The studio was clear in a follow-up that it will not revert to the open beta movement. Instead, the plan is to push minor tweaks to address bits that players find “a bit clunky,” and to share details when they can. The studio has also confirmed that a ladder exploit, which players were using to move around maps, will be patched out. That issue and other gameplay headaches have kept the devs busy as they balance the systems, and you can see other post-launch troubles, like ticket adjustments, in our earlier coverage of Conquest start ticket reductions.
We're looking at adjustments for sure to find a good in-between, we already have some changes that are cooking on our side and monitoring the feedback for more🙂

We won't go back to Open Beta movement but we are working on some slight adjustments that will help with some parts that feel a bit clunky. We'll share more about that as soon as we can!

If you want to follow the studio’s ongoing cat-and-mouse have a look at the recent XP farm in Portal mode which EA is about to shut down. Also, our story on Conquest ticket cuts digs into another tweak DICE and EA have already pushed live to stop matches ending on timers rather than a real win or loss. There’s no patch notes timeline yet, and the team hasn’t published a changelog, so expect slow, iterative fixes rather than a single sweeping revert. Players annoyed by the clunkier bits will have to keep shouting into the void for a little while longer.
