Battlefield 6 Devs Promise UI Changes After Player Feedback

Developers will adjust Battlefield 6’s UI to address player complaints before launch.

Battlefield 6 developers are responding to player concerns about the game’s user interface during the open beta. While the beta has drawn huge crowds and even surpassed Call of Duty’s Steam player count, many players found the UI confusing and challenging to use. The devs have now promised tweaks and refinements to make the menus more visually appealing before the full release on October 10.

Many players were thrown off by the way different game modes are shown as separate tiles, which makes finding specific playlists, like the Closed Weapons mode, somewhat inconvenient. It’s kinda frustrating when you want to jump into your favorite mode but have to hunt for it first…

Executive Producer Christian Grass told CharlieIntel that the team has been listening closely to feedback. He said, “One of the principles that we have in this project has always been to be open and listen. So we are constantly listening.” Grass added they’re still discussing internally what improvements to focus on and what trade-offs might be necessary.

Battlefield 6 devs told us in an interview that they are actively listening to feedback on the game's UI

"It's not a hard-coded UI, so it's very dynamic… we can always tune those things… the tiles that you see there are constantly going to be tweaked and refined." pic.twitter.com/7jJP0dDtAv

Creative Director Thomas Anderson added that the main menu UI isn’t set in stone and can be updated easily. He explained, “I just want you to understand that it’s not hard-coded UI that you’re talking about right now, so it’s very dynamic. We could listen to feedback and act on something that feels like it’s troubling. We can always tune those things.”

Grass confirmed that the tiles on the main screen will be “constantly tweaked and refined” to help players find the modes they want more easily. They didn’t reveal specific changes yet, but it’s clear the devs want to get this right before launch.

Besides the UI, players have also raised concerns about map sizes and changes to Rush mode, but the UI complaints seem to be the loudest. Guess it’s easier to notice when menus get in the way of gameplay, right?

With the release date less than two months away, the devs have a bit of time to polish the UI and hopefully make it less of a headache. Will these changes make the game more enjoyable, or will players still struggle to find what they want? We’ll see soon enough.
