Battlefield 6‘s developers have reduced the brightness of sniper glints ahead of release, responding to beta criticism and a stream of memes that highlighted the effect. Lead team members said the glare was too intense, so they tuned down scope reflections and related visual effects before launch.
Early beta discussions covered several areas of the game, including adjustments to anti-tank and anti-air damage, as well as changes to the class system, all of which the team has been fine-tuning after the open tests. Players’ comments about the sniper reflections rose to the top of those conversations.
Community threads on Reddit argued that the effects “need to be toned down,” while posts on an official EA forum thread called for the glint to be removed entirely. Players also made a handful of memorable images and jokes about the bright spots appearing across maps.
I believe sniper glint is necessary for battlefield, but I feel like this needs to be toned down

In a new interview with IGN, technical director Christian Buhl and senior console combat designer Matthew Nickerson admitted the team saw the memes and took the criticism seriously. “I saw those,” Buhl said, calling the images “hilarious,” and adding that the feedback made it clear some effects required tuning.
Nickerson noted a few specific tweaks, stating that the sniper glint was “too strong,” so the team “stepped it back,” and that the bullet tracer effect received similar adjustments. The developers shared a handful of the community’s creations internally and said the responses helped highlight what needed work. Comments from the developers suggest that the team will continue to monitor player feedback as the launch date approaches and make further adjustments as needed.
