A developer on Battlefield 6 has confirmed that weapon bloom has behaved incorrectly since launch and that a fix is in the works. That matters because the issue can make aimed shots feel inconsistent, which in turn changes the pace and feel of gunfights for many players.
Since the release, some players have complained that Bloom adds a surprising amount of randomness to each shot. We previously covered the community reaction to the mechanic in a piece on weapon bloom, and clips shared by streamers drew attention to cases where spread and bloom didn’t behave as expected. Principal Game Designer Florian Le Bihan replied on social media to clarify what’s happening, saying the beta issue had been fixed but that the team has identified two separate problems that can cause increased dispersion at times. He added that the team is working on a fix and is looking at general tuning for dispersion.
Some of the bloom complaints come from bugs, not only design choices, and the developer says those bugs will be addressed. The team is also considering balance adjustments to dispersion after the launch feedback. Players who feel shots are drifting when they shouldn’t can expect a patch aimed at correcting the buggy behaviour. The developer’s statement suggests both targeted bug fixes and broader tuning may appear in upcoming updates.
The Beta bug was actually fixed but we've identified another issue (two in fact) that impacts dispersion/bloom in an unintended way and will cause you to have more dispersion at times.
The team is working on this and we're looking at general balance/tuning of dispersion too.
