Battlefield 6 is EA’s latest big shooter, which will hit in October, promising explosive battles and a return to classic warfare vibes. The big question on everyone’s mind: will it have crossplay? Well, yes. Battlefield 6 will support full crossplay across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC at launch.
The multiplayer reveal showed a game leaning into raw, chaotic combat with less sci-fi nonsense and more of those signature “Battlefield moments” we all crave. Crossplay means your matchmaking won’t just be limited to your platform, speeding up matches and helping with connection quality by matching you with local players more often. Pretty sweet, right?
Eurogamer confirmed this crossplay feature after their press and creator preview, making it official that Battlefield 6 will let players squad up regardless of their hardware choice. This is especially important given how massive the player base will be; crossplay helps keep the queues short and gameplay smooth.
Battlefield 6 crossplay covers PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Sorry Nintendo fans, but neither the original Switch nor the Switch 2 will be part of this. The Switch 2 is powerful, sure, but EA and Battlefield Studios have no plans to bring Battlefield 6 there anytime soon.
On the plus side, this means whether you’re on console or PC, you’ll get a much bigger pool of players to jump into matches with. You can also disable crossplay if you want, which might be handy if hackers or cheaters become a problem, usually an issue on PC that can annoy console players. So, what do you think? Does this crossplay support make Battlefield 6 more appealing to you? Are you ready to jump into the chaos on any platform?
