Battlefield 6 players are in for a treat this week as the open beta weekend is coming back with a brand new map and two additional game modes. It matters because the beta has already attracted huge numbers, and these fresh additions might spice things up a bit.
Last beta weekend for Battlefield 6 saw over 500,000 concurrent players on Steam alone. That’s massive! Though it wasn’t perfect, with some players pointing out an “unexpectedly fast” time to death, which the devs are looking into. Still, this second beta weekend is preparing to build on that momentum with new content.
Battlefield 6 Open Beta Weekend 2 Will Add Empire State with Rush and Squad Deathmatch Modes
Daniel Cambran, an environment artist at EA Dice, shared on X a thank you to players for their feedback during the first beta. He revealed that the upcoming weekend will include the new Empire State map alongside two new game modes: Rush and Squad Deathmatch. Fans of the franchise know Rush is a classic mode that could easily dominate the weekend.
Seeing the reception of the #Battlefield6 Open Beta this weekend was truly overwhelming.
Thx to everyone playing and feedbacking!
See you all next weekend when we do it all over again, this time including Rush and Squad Deathmatch on Empire State (as well as the previous maps) pic.twitter.com/uuzt1yvaEP— Daniel Cambrand (@TearGasJazzDICE) August 11, 2025
Along with Empire State, players will also get to revisit maps from the previous beta weekend, like Siege of Cairo, Liberation Peak, and Iberian Offensive. Modes returning include Conquest, Closed Weapon Conquest, Breakthrough, Domination, and King of the Hill. The new beta weekend will feature Closed Weapon Conquest and Breakthrough, too. That’s quite a lineup! Ever wonder which mode you’ll spend most of your time in?
There’s some drama too: the VTuber RileyCS got banned on Twitch over cheating claims, and BF6’s anti-cheat system is asking players to uninstall Valorant. Yikes. Cheaters ruin the fun, don’t they?
