The dynamic battlefield of Battlefield 2042 is set to experience a significant overhaul with the forthcoming 6.2 update. This update is particularly noteworthy for its focus on enhancing the mechanics of air vehicle impacts, promising a more realistic and engaging aerial combat experience for players.
The crux of the update lies in the new system for predicting the impact points of air vehicles. By incorporating a variety of factors like vehicle velocity, angular velocity, gravity, and drag, the game will now provide a more accurate impact prediction for distances up to 300 meters. This feature is a game-changer for pilots.
Another significant improvement is the alignment of vehicle crosshairs across all camera views on air vehicles. This ensures that the crosshairs players rely on are as precise as possible, enhancing accuracy in fast-paced dogfights and strategic bombing.
The update also pays special attention to air vehicles with diverse armaments, like the MD540 Nightbird, which features two weapons. For these aircraft, the game will calculate an average impact point based on the distances of both weapons, ensuring consistent and reliable targeting across different weapon systems.
