Battlefield 2042 is getting repeated double XP events in live service, the developer EA announced, running through early October to help players unlock Battlefield 6 rewards. The update, posted on August 29 on the Battlefield Comms account, states that double XP weekends will run until October 7, with the final two weekends offering triple XP.
Player complaints about the length of time it takes to climb the Free Battle Pass in Battlefield 2042 prompted the change. The announcement aims to make items in the Road to Battlefield 6 Pass more attainable by the time the subsequent mainline entry launches.
The developer message says players who worried about missing an XP weekend can relax a bit – the plan is regular double XP every weekend until the Free Battlepass ends on October 7. The last two weekends will provide triple XP boosts.
“We’ve heard your concerns that you might have missed out on an XP weekend already, or might miss one of the upcoming ones, making it harder to catch up and get all the items from the Free Battlepass you’ve wanted. We therefore will have a double XP events every weekend until the Free Battlepass ends on October 7. Additionally, the last two weekends will feature triple XP gains, so keep those circled in your calendar!”
